    Ekiti : Organized Labour Demands Immediate Release Of Finance Commissioner And Accountant General


    Following the continuous detention of the Ekiti state commissioner for finance Toyin Ojo and the accountant general Mrs Yemisi Owolabi by the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) on how the federal government bailout funds to the state was utilized, members of the organized labour in the state have renewed their call for the immediate release of the two officials, saying the state share of the federal government’s bailout funds was judiciously used by the state government.
    Leaders of the union told newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the state capital at the labour house that the arrest of the finance commissioner and the accountant general was a clear attempt by the federal govt. To intimidate the Fayose-led administration.
    The Ekiti finance commissioner and the accountant general have so far spent four days in the EFCC custody and it is not clear when they will be released.
