Self balancing bike
nvented by Arnold Wagner, founder of Ecomobile, the MonoTracer
is essentially an 'enclosed motorcycle' . It has "landing gear" that
is brought down to stabilize the vehicle when it stops or is at slow
speeds. Once going, the operator retracts the gear, and the MonoTracer
can lean up to 52 degrees in a turn. There are two MonoTracer models,
both based on a very strong DuPont Kevlar® composite monocoque, or
"fuselage".
The
MT i1200 is powered by a fuel-injected BMW 1200cc gas engine. It goes
from 0 to 60 in just over 5 seconds, and has an electronically limited
top speed of 155 MPH. It gets over 50 mpg at highway speeds.
The fully battery-electric MT e150
which was made available in June 2012, and is powered by an AC
Propulsion 150kW electric motor. The MT e150 provides the same great
performance, same feel & fun of the MT i1200 , but gets over 300
MPGe highway, and has NO engine noise! With no engine noise, no
clutching, no shifting, and TONS of torque, the MT-150 is a pleasure,
and a thrill, to drive!
