College Of Education Teachers Seek Traditional Rulers Intervention In Education Crisis

The college of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU is appealing to traditional rulers to play active role in pressurizing government to implement agreements reached with workers to avoid industrial action. 
President of the union, Nuhu Ogirima who made the appeal at the palace of the emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman also wants traditional rulers to encourage adequate funding of teacher education in the country.
The emir of Katsina who spoke in Hausa promised to collaborate with fellow traditional rulers to begin a campaign for government to increase funding for education.
The emir however tasked the teachers on making reasonable demands on government as other sectors of the economy also have critical needs as well.
The college of education academic staff union was in Katsina for its expanded national executive council meeting at which it decried the several months of unpaid salaries by both federal and state governments.
