House Of Reps Reus Poor Budgetary Allocation To Health Sector

Nigeria’s House of Representatives committee on health institutions is blaming consistent medical tourism outside the country on self-centred work force and under funding of the nation’s health sector.
This emerged at an interactive session with agencies of government under the health ministry in Abuja this Friday.
The committee observed that the 2018 budget just like the 2016 and 2017 budgets made no provision for outsourced service in the health sector.
This singular action, the committee chairman, Betty Apiafi says has put all tertiary health institutions in great danger as all of them with some running for over three years
At the committee on tertiary education and services, the Chairman Aminu Suleiman questioned the involvement of government in organising the 2017 world teachers day.
The lawmakers were also not happy with the way and manner funds appropriated for capital projects were being released piece meal
