TRANSFER: Manchester City Pressing On Riyad Mahrez and Kylian Mbappe

Jorginho and Riyad Mahrez both endured disappointing nights on Friday as their respective nations were beaten in international friendlies.
Jorginho's Italy, perhaps expectedly, lost to one of the World Cup favourites as they went down 3-1 to France in Nice.
Meanwhile Mahrez's Algeria were on the end of a shock result as Cape Verde came from behind in Algiers to win 3-2.
Both men will perhaps be relieved when their international commitments are over and they can get down to the real business of completing their transfers to Manchester City.
Mahrez is expected to join in a £60million switch from Leicester, while a fee is yet to be agreed for Jorginho's transfer from Napoli.
City were knocked back with an opening offer of £44million, the Italian club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed on Friday, and could lodge an improved bid this week.

    City's initial Jorginho bid rejected

Manchester City have had a €50million (£43.7m) bid for Napoli midfielder Jorginho knocked back, the Serie A club’s president has said.
The Italy international is one of Pep Guardiola’s top summer targets, with the Catalan boss bidding to add further strength in depth to his squad ahead of City’s title defence.
However, it appears the Premier League champions will have to dig a little deeper to get a deal over the line.
“Jorginho? I have refused an offer from Man City worth €45m plus €5m in bonuses,” Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis told Corriere dello Sport.
